A lot can be said about what defines a high-quality carbon offset project, and key considerations include: Permanence, Additionality, Transparency, Integrity, ...
We do this in four ways:
1. Developing high quality carbon projects for investors where the biodiversity benefit is quantified (e.g. carbon credits generated from these projects are associated with a 50% increase in biodiversity). See Mangrove and Marine Projects and Ecosystem Restoration and Agricultural Improvements. Offtake agreements can also be agreed for these projects and because if the unique way in which we ensure Social Impact the buyers can be sure that at least 60% of the price paid will have benefited local stakeholders (owners, users and managers of the site) so they are not exposed to adverse publicity.
2. Developing projects that rely on issuance in part or whole on Biodiversity Credits (Biodiversity Led Projects). These are projects that allow multiple buyers and are aimed at producing biodiversity credits using innovative funding approaches.
3. Quantifying the impact in terms of carbon emission reduction units and biodiversity gain units for investments for Insetting Projects.
4. The Scientific Advisory Services expertise developed by the rePLANET teams to design and deliver these projects are available on a consultancy basis to help with quantifying biodiversity and carbon and advising on how these ecosystem services can be monetized.
