Senior Geospatial Engineer
Carlos is responsible for developing advanced spatial applications that streamline project assessments and verifications. As a Senior Geospatial Engineer at rePLANET, he designs, builds, and maintains GIS-based tools, dashboards, and workflows to support carbon project development and monitoring. He focuses on innovation and problem-solving by automating existing manual processes—such as eligibility checks, suitability analysis, and map production—to increase speed, consistency, and scalability. By integrating complex data sources into coherent, user-friendly products, Carlos ensures spatial output remains consistent with current best practice requirements and methodologies. Carlos has an academic background in Environmental Engineering. Over the last few years, his work has focused extensively on the development and monitoring of conservation and carbon projects. He brings significant experience managing technical assistance, and carbon accounting specifically for ARR and REDD+ projects under the VCS standard. This technical drive is fueled by his deep commitment to wildlife conservation, landscape ecology, and understanding complex forest carbon dynamics.
